Description

The Peninsula Multifaith Coalition invites you to join us on MLK Jr. Day (January 20, 2020) for our 8th Annual Day of Service. The day begins with breakfast, which includes an inspiring welcome from community faith leaders. Following breakfast, volunteers will break into groups to work together on 20+ projects that benefit our local community. One of our goals for this event is to have people of many faiths interact at breakfast and during their service project. Most projects are family-friendly (children 5+ welcome) and will end by 12:00 p.m.

We are excited to have several new opportunities this year including new school locations, new nursing home for singing, expanded park restoration project, care bag assembly, and tree planting. See individual project descriptions for specifics. After signing up for a project, you will receive further information (including your breakfast location) from your project captain. If needed, community service forms are available.

Please note: Volunteer registration is open to members of the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition and their friends. During the registration, please select the member organization with which you are most closely affiliated. As our goal is to have a mix of volunteers at each project, please only register your immediate family.

If you would like to register a larger group, please sign up only 2 or 3 people per project so that you have smaller groups in several projects. This provides an experience with depth and allows each individual to interact with people of other faiths and to have an experience that can be shared in your larger group later. If a faith community signs up a large group for the same project, then this does not give your group the full experience. Thank you for understanding what the Peninsula Multifath Coalition is all about.

Volunteers must register by January 12. Projects fill up quickly, so register early!
Volunteers must sign up in advance, as we cannot accept walk-ins on the day of the event.

Sponsored by the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

The MLK Multifaith Day of Service and other community events are made possible by the generosity of member faith organizations and donors like you, who contribute to cover the cost of supplies. If you would like to donate, please click here. Thanks for your support!
